Paul Allen

Paul Allen passed away on April 6, 2025.

Paul worked in Toronto in the Greater Toronto Area Region and Headquarters in the National Capital Region.

Barry Weisberg passed away on March 16, 2025.

Barry worked in Commercial Operations in the Greater Toronto Area Region.

Lindon McCallum

Lindon McCallum passed away on March 9, 2025.

Throughout his career, Lindon held various positions within the Agency, gaining extensive experience across multiple roles. He began his journey with what was then known as Customs and Excise, starting as a Junior Entry Processing Clerk before transitioning to a Customs Truckman. Lindon also worked in Finance at 1 Front Street and later became a Customs Inspector, now referred to as a Border Services Officer (BSO). In 1996, he joined Compensation, but his career path remained dynamic. He attended training in Rigaud, worked as a BSO in Commercial Operations, and took on assignments as a Program Services Officer and Contraband Program Officer. It was in 2002 that he truly found his professional home in Compensation as a valued and respected member of the GTA Compensation Team.


André Dugal

Donald Montgomery passed away on March 4, 2025.

Don served as the National Vice President for the Customs and Excise Union, which led him to meet many wonderful people from around Canada and the world.

Donald Sanderson

Donald Sanderson passed away on March 3, 2025.

Don worked for 34 years with Canada Customs (Canada Border Service Agency), serving many offices (Collingwood, Guelph, Hanover, London, Owen Sound)  in Southwestern Ontario.

If desired, donations may be made to Sleeping Children of the World, Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.

Mansel R. Legacy

Mansel Legacy passed away on February 28, 2025.

A proud unionist and member of the Customs and Immigration Union Northern Ontario Branch, Mansel Legacy worked as a Customs Inspector in Sault Ste. Marie, and was at the helm of our union for fifteen years, serving as National President from 1981 to 1996 — the second person to occupy the position since the union’s creation in 1966.

Karen Dunbar (Hopps)

Karen Dunbar passed away on February 6, 2025.

Karen found her calling in public service and while working as a proud Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Officer in Cornwall and the National Targeting Centre in Ottawa.

The family would like to thank the many people who supported Karen, and invites donations be made to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital in honour of Karen's memory, to support services for those affected by cancer.
